Form 8936 Availability for 2023

The instructions for 8936 were updated on 24Jan24 and the form 8936 sequence no. 69a is posted on the IRS website. When will it be available on TT, please?

The IRS Form 8936 Clean Vehicle Credit for tax year 2023 has not been finalized in TurboTax.

The form is scheduled to be available on 02/21/2024.

Thank you for your very prompt reply.

I have seen the 2/21 date in my TT s/w. However, I am wondering why it would take 3wks to post it. 😞

I have $15k riding on the forms 🙂

Simply put ... the IRS takes time to approve forms in any tax program. After the IRS puts out tech specs on a form the programmers must integrate it into the tax program, then test it and forward it to the IRS for testing and approval ... sadly this takes time so all you can do is wait.

So this form has been delayed in the approval process and the new expected date it will be available has changed.
