OK ... then it could be a glitch which means just waiting for an update ... don't be in a rush to file especially before the IRS starts accepting returns. The Sch A is not expected to be fully functional until 1/14 so try again next year. Switch to the FORMS mode if you wish and make the entry manually but any overrides will void the accuracy guarantee and could keep you from efiling ... so make sure to undo it before you efile.
I just purchased Premier for PC, and I can confirm that the dialog for the current most updated version does not ask the question in the dialog for the $300 Cares Act deduction if Standard deduction is used nor transfer cash charitable deductions previously entered under the Itemized Deduction dialogs.
Overriding Line 10b on Form 1040, the calculation is all messed up completely and does not carry through.
Is there an official bug report filed to fix this issue?
This is a costly bug to us customers that must must take the standard deduction! Please report if a bug fix is being worked!
Thank you!
This is a know bug and has been reported. Go ahead and clear the amount entered.
Go back to the Deductions & Credit section for charitable donations and enter the cash contribution in that section. That should correct the problem.
To enter charitable donations -
Or enter charitable donation in the Search box located in the upper right of the online program screen. Click on Jump to charitable donation

Thank you, but that did not work.
I received two updates during the last week. I still don't see that question, but when I went through the final review, it did now ask me to enter the $300 deduction and it appears properly calculated on form 1040!
Excellent!
Where in the Turbo tax program does the $300 charitable contributions above the standard deduction allowable on the 2020 taxes show up?
If you take the Standard Deduction you can also deduct up to $300 Charity on 1040 line 10b. Go though the deduction section and enter your charity amounts. Then keep going and finish that section. It should say the Standard Deduction is right for you. Then it will add the amount to line 10b.
<deleted> It's only for cash deductions. :(
Yes, TurboTax allows you to claim the deduction even if you do not itemize. Following special tax law changes made earlier this year, cash donations of up to $300 made before December 31, 2020, are now deductible when people file their taxes in 2021.
How do I enter my 2020 charitable donations in TurboTax?
I bought TurboTax Premier for 2020 and when I enter charitable donation it does not compute in my overall tax return. I have tried deleting and re-adding charitable donation. I have tried saving tax return and closing tax return to re-open and re-enter charitable donation. Been putting off filing and checking periodically for Inuit to update TurboTax so that I can get credit for my charitable donation per CARES Act law. I reached out to Turbotax/inuit through multiple avenues and have not heard back.
It is currently 3/20/2020 and I am fully up to date on my Turbotax software. Very frustrated.
If you take the Standard Deduction you can also deduct up to $300 Charity on 1040 line 10b. Go though the deduction section and enter your charity amounts. Then keep going and finish that section. It should say the Standard Deduction is right for you. Then it will add the amount to line 10b.
To get the $300 Charity Deduction in addition to the Standard Deduction in the Desktop program, see this post

OK I just did it. I have Windows Home & Business. It works for me. Enter the 300 under Deductions as normal. Then continue though Deductions and click on Done with Deductions. Then continue though 4 more screens. After you get the screen Here are your 2019 and 2020 Deductions and Credits, click Continue. The next screen says The Standard Deduction is right for you. Continue. Then you will get the Charitable Cash Contributions screen (see screen shot). Continue and you should be done. Switch to Forms and open the 1040, it is on line 10b.
