You can get your return to E-file if you go to the form with the error and move the carryover column to the disallowed column. Just remember to put the values back to carryover next year.
I do not think you should play with the carryover numbers. It needs to be accurate to avoid auditing and amendment -- that will slow you further down and cost more time later. Maybe it is a small risk, but for tax, you do not want any risk. Really need TT to fix it quickly. I do not think efile "accepted" means tax return is OK'd.
Not sure this form is even required since it does not print out for filing by mail. Just go to the form with the error and move the carry over amounts to the disallowed column for the regular return and the AMT section. It will then E-file with the exact same numbers. Go back and file an amended return later to fix it but it really doesn't matter.
Yah, good luck with that.
Someone (I guess a lot of frustrated users) wrote to the CEO and the office of president responded with the dates. You can trace the thread back to see those. Or ask the office of president. Intuit needs to publish the message to everyone.
@aghess Did I misunderstand this? My understanding is that the schedule B has not been "coded" into the TT system so that is why it is not shown up in your pdf. But that is required by IRS. And TT is going to release it on 03/17 or 03/31 whatever the office of president said.
I don't see anywhere that this schedule is required by the IRS but maybe I missed it. It was never required before and TT will let you file by mail without it.
The whole mess is that the schedule B is a new form to 1116 form to regulate all kinds carryover. It is required and TT did not get it into the system at the time to my understanding.
I am pretty sure that form has been around for many years. I do not understand why it is a problem this year>
I just got this from the office of president: it should be a good news -- I am reading the "once that form is finalized" as once they add that form into the TT system by 03/31.
My name Erik with Intuit's Office of the President. We received your email and I wanted to provide you with the most current information Intuit TurboTax has about Form 1116 Schedule B – Foreign Tax Carryover Reconciliation Schedule. After further investigation, our Product Specialist was able to confirm that you will be able to E-File with the 1116 schedule B attached as a PDF, once that form is finalized. I apologize for any miscommunication earlier, as it was unclear if this form was going to be able to be E-Filed or not. Form 1116 is final; the schedule B is set for tentatively 3/31. However, our Development Team is working around the clock to try to get the form out ASAP. Again, if you are needing any further information, please contact Technical Support. However, that is the latest update our team would be able to provide at this time.
Form 1116 Schedule B, Foreign Tax Carryover Reconciliation Schedule is now scheduled to be available in TurboTax on 03/17/2022

By the way, I am pleased that the CEO reads the email Saturday and the office replied on Sunday. I am hopeful now.
This is even better: 03/17.
The only difference is that the efile on 03/17 does not support efile as it indictes? but 03/31 it will as an attachment of pdf by the system?

It still is not known if it will able to be filed as a PDF attachment.
