James,
I went into TurboTax online and it pulled up my account and I was able to view the return, but I wasn't able to see the other links you mentioned, i.e. TaxTools, Tools, Other helpful links, ect. What am I doing wrong?
I'm still trying to view and/or print my tax return "worksheets". I Googled it and it was suggested that I go into "Amend Return", but rather than amending them, just look at the worksheets. TT wouldn't even let me do that. It says I can't amend them yet. I don't want to amend them, I just want to look at my worksheets. Why is this not possible? Don't they belong to me?

Sign onto your TurboTax online account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.
This will take you back to the 2020 online tax return.
Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets
Thank you. That worked for me. However, when I hit the download button it got hung up. There was a message, "Preparing your document This may take a few moments." but it was hung up for a long time. The system may be too busy. I'll try again later.
Thanks again.
I finally got the worksheets to print and sure enough what I did was switch the stimulus payment figures. I put 1,200 where the 2,400 should have gone and visa versa. Hopefully the IRS will correct it and deduct the 1,200 from my refund. If not it should be an easy fix when I resubmit my return. Pretty embarrassing for someone who dealt with mainframe processing for 14 years.
No there is not another credit that is what I thought and filed. I was asked the same question I enter that I did receive all payments it asked how much I input 1700 for me and my child and 1200 for 2nd again for me and 1 child I was given a $500 credit I did this 3 times just to make sure I wasn't making an error come to find out TurboTax software glitch. I have neither of the amounts I enter on the tax pdf from them but when I go to the irs site and download my transcript there is only 1700 in putted and nothing for the second one as a result my tax refund was delayed and I got a small refund.
Sorry you had problems too. Mine isn't solved yet. I haven't received anything. No letter, no direct deposit, no nothing. I'm hoping the Stimulus payments is why it's held up and not lost mail or notification that I'm being audited. It makes me feel better to know it might have been a TurboTax glitch. I know I was very careful when I filled out the Stimulus question. But, I'm sure it'll be me who will pay for the mistake.
I don't know if I can continue with this thread or not, but here goes.
I'm really getting worried. My return was accepted on Feb. 15 and TT estimated a 3/5 return date. I still haven't received word. I went into the IRS' "Where's my refund" and it says it's still being processed. I want to amend my return, correcting the mistake and resubmit it, but I guess I can't do that yet. Is there anything I can do other than continue losing sleep? Thanks for any suggestions you might have.
@DenverDad - what is the mistake? if it related to the stimulus, sit tight as the IRS will probably catch it and adjust it.
Yes. I guess I or TT put in the wrong info in my stimulus entry. You just made my day! I can sit tight, I just get nervous. I really need my return. I count on it to pay the bills. Thanks so much for your response.
@DenverDad - just to confirm, when asked to enter the amount you received for each of the first two stimulus payments, you put in a number that was lower than what you actually received? And a number showed up on Line 30 that was too high?
is that the issue? that is probably why your return is slow to process at the IRS - they are auditing for that stuff and adjusting accordingly.
please post back and confirm!
@DenverDad Do you have an amount on 1040 line 30? If you already got both the stimulus checks they made be taking the amount on line 30 OFF of your refund. So don't be surprised if your refund is less.
I went back and read all the prior posts. Yes it seems you understand that you don't get the 1200 again so the IRS will be taking it out of your refund. You must have entered the 2400 and 1200 in the wrong boxes. So it thinks you were short 1200 for the first round.
Yes, that’s what I did. I still don’t understand how I made such an error. I was so careful. Anyway, I have some good news. My refund was deposited this evening. The IRS saw my error and corrected it, so I won’t have to send money back. I wonder if by logging into “Where’s my refund”, I set off some kind of alarm (smile).
I’m a happy man and will get some sleep tonight.
Thanks to everyone who helped me. Life is good.
your turbotax software goofs up on the stimulus check as a credit and adds the money into my refund. IRS accepts my return 4 months ago and i still don't have a refund. But now I have to refile an amended tax form or wait until the give me the return and send back the $1200. Something is wrong with that picture. I've used Turbotax for 30 years or more an never have I encountered this problem. Help
