Property Tax

If I paid 2024 property tax in January 2025 (before the penalty deadline), can I still claim/deduct it on my 2024 taxes?

No.  Property taxes paid in 2025 can only be entered on a 2025 tax return that is filed next year.

No.

You can only deduct property taxes paid in 2024 on your 2024 tax return.

The taxes you paid in January 2025 are deductible on your 2025 tax return.

Can I claim 2 years of property taxes in 1 year?  If so, is their a dollar limit?

No, there is not a limit on property taxes paid.  However, there is a limit on the total State/Local taxes paid as an itemized deduction on Schedule A.  The limit is $10,000

You can deduct all the property taxes you paid during the year on the current year tax return.
