Per 2022 tax code, There is a $1,200 aggregate yearly tax credit maximum for home energy audits. However, I cannot find that as a deduction on TurboTax. Anyone else?

Home Energy Credits are in the Deductions and Credits section of the return, from the left menu bar.

  1. Scroll down to Your Home and click on Show More
  2. Click on Start or Revisit for Home Energy Credits

Pay attention to the question instead of providing a generic answer. I know where to find energy credit deductions. I’m saying it’s missing the deductions for performing an ENERGY AUDIT which is a deductible item. If you don’t know what an ENERGY AUDIT, look it up.

The Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit provides tax credits for the purchase of qualifying equipment, home improvements, and energy audits to reduce your taxes.

However, this Energy Audit Credit is effective for tax years beginning January 1, 2023, the amount of the credit is equal to 30% of the sum of amounts paid by the taxpayer for certain qualified expenditures, including (1) qualified energy efficiency improvements installed during the year, (2) residential energy property expenditures during the year, and (3) home energy audits.

The Inflation Reduction Act amended the credit to be worth up to $1,200 per year for qualifying property placed in service on or after January 1, 2023, and before January 1, 2033 and gave it a new name, the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit.

Energy Audits performed in 2022 are not deductible or eligible for a credit.

Are you not reading the question? I know what it is.

I cannot find it as a deduction or credit on TurboTax. Do you know where? If not, don't answer.

You cannot find it in TurboTax because you are filing your 2022 tax return and it is not available for tax year 2022.  You will not be able to find it in any tax software until 2024, when the 2023 tax returns are filed.

As stated above by @LindaS5247 This Energy Audit Credit is effective for tax years beginning January 1, 2023
