Including LTC 1099R Income in Turbotax

My wife and I receive 1099R's for the insurance company that holds our long term care insurance.  We are NOT current taking any long term care funding from these policies.  The annual letter we receive from the policies state the income stated in the 1099R's is not includable in our gross income, yet Turbo Tax asks for all 1099 info.

What should be do... include it or not?  I know the income is not taxable, but the income itself affects the IRMAA's of our social security.

Thanks

If you received a Form 1099-LTC and there was not a distribution then you do not enter the Form 1099-LTC on your tax return.

No it doesn't.  The only nontaxable income that adds to your AGI to determine your MAGI for IRMAA is nontaxable interest on line 2a of Form 1040.  Amounts reported on Form 1099-R are not interest.

Thanks for the info.  I wasn't sure.  Do I even need to list the 1099R information in TurboTax?

No, you do not need to include this LTC-1099R on your return since it is not income so it is not taxable and does not affect your MAGI or your return in any way.
