In California, I bought a used tractor from a private party. Do i need to pay sales tax?

This is an income tax forum so no one here is familiar with all the state sales tax regulations.  Your best bet is to google and call the CA Department of Revenue and ask them.  They won't require all your personal detail just to answer a question.
