If you got rid of a vehicle that you used for Business, you can indicate in Self Employment Income and Expenses that you stopped using it and the date (screenshots).
Continue through the screens to claim your vehicle expenses for 2017.
If you replaced your vehicle with a different vehicle used for Business, type 'like kind' in the Search window and 'Jump to like kind' to give info about the new vehicle (screenshot). This will defer any gains or depreciation recapture on the old vehicle.

I don't get it!
The answer doesn't answer the question.
If I bought a vehicle in 2019, for 100% personal use, at the purchase price of $18k, and amassed 28k miles on it.
But in 2021, I used it 10% for business purposes that year, and drove close to 7k miles on it both business and personal.
Then later resold it in 2021 at 35k miles, for $12k; what do I put there?
When asked the sales price of the car for the business portion only, since you only used the car ten percent for business, you would enter $1,200 as the sales price since when you sold it, the car was used 10% for business.
On the next screen, you will be asked the vehicle cost. You will need to figure out the FMV of your vehicle when you started using it for business. You can use KBB.com or NADA to estimate the Fair Market Value at the time you started using it for business. You will enter the full Fair Market value, not the prorated amount.
I saw this message and had the same question....but as the other person mentioned....the question was never actually fully answered. Is this why you want us to pay the extra money for advice.....to answer one question????
It depends. Vanessa A has perfectly described the steps to take to report the sale of the vehicle so tell us, what are you confused about and what question was not answered?
