I do not want to itemize my deductions

The sum of all my federal tax deductions (home mortgage and real estate taxes mostly) is a lot less than this year's standard deductions (27000). It appears that I should not even bother to list these deductions, meaning that I would have to declare that I do not have a home - because there is no other way to say "I do not want to itemize my deductions".

Is this assessment accurate? Or is there a way to simply state "No itemized deductions" at the beginning of the form, somewhere?

I do not want to itemize my deductions

You can still enter them and Turbo Tax will take the bigger deduction and you should enter them because you might be able to itemize on your state return.

If you don't want to enter them you can answer any way you want and/or just skip them.  I wish there was a simple way to say no to itemize.

That is precisely my attitude - I do not want to fish for all documents needed to declare my deductions, so I simply answered no to the question whether I own a home.  Now being ready to send my return electronically, I began to worry whether my document would be rejected because of that.
