I cannot edit real estate tax

Turbotax doubled my entry for real estate tax.

I've tried to 'edit' the entry to no avail but shows the entry twice.

I've logged out and in, rebooted and no change.

It sounds like there are duplicate entries in TurboTax. Here are steps to help you delete and re-add your real estate tax entry using the search and jump links: Why Deleting and Re-adding May Work: Deleting the entire Form 1098 entry can help resolve issues with duplicate entries and looping errors. This ensures that you start fresh and enter the correct information without any previous errors interfering.

Deleting the Real Estate Tax Entry:

  1. Log into TurboTax Online and open your return.
  2. Click on Tax Tools in the left menu.
  3. Select Tools.
  4. Click on Delete a Form.
  5. Scroll down to find Form 1098 and click Delete next to it.

Re-entering Mortgage and Property Tax Information:

  1. Locate the search bar in the upper right corner of your screen.
  2. Type "mortgage interest" into the search bar.
  3. Select the "Jump to mortgage interest" link that appears at the top of the search results.
  4. This will take you directly to the Mortgage Interest, Refinancing, and Insurance (Form 1098) section.
  5. Enter the details from your Form 1098 and other documents, including mortgage interest and property taxes paid.
  6. Follow the prompts to ensure all information is accurately entered.

Thank you for the response.

I tried what you suggested. A list of all my forms appears except for the 1098!

Please advise?

Also check the area under "Your Home" in deductions and credits for Property Taxes only.  Is there a second entry of the amount here?

I cannot edit real estate tax

Yes, I found it as per the above instructions. Only listed under property taxes.

I paid the additional money for phone assistance as I had other questions; my advisor took me down that route.

Thank you
