For context I am a non-resident alien, I was a student in a university and during my second year or college I was offered to go and help for a couple of months on a taco stall that was from September of 2022 till January of 2023 in which the taco stall closed permanently on January of 2023 when I was laid off. I was filing TASFA in my college and I had stated that I worked and stated the months and how much I made which for those months an amount of 1,440 and I stated that I couldn't file an income tax as I am undocumented, ans filed a student non income form for my school in which I stated I couldn't (Mind you I didn't you still can file taxes with an ITIN I barely learbed that this past year) file taxes and I graduated on December of 2024, but my last 3 semesters that I had on 204 including the one in December I was charged a Foreign 1042 Tax and that was added to my student bill along with the charges of my clases and I manged to pay for all those taxes during those semesters as I obtained a scholarship for undocumented students, (the scholarship is a non-profit organization btw) and they would send the money I needed to pay mi tuition and classes directly to the university and therefore that tax was paid and in total for those 3 semesters I paid a total amount of $1,186. I have already graduated as I said and a couple of days ago I received a 1042-S form stating that I withheld a federal tax of 1,186 and I have emailed and have talked to someone on the tax compliance of my university but have yet to receive a respond is there another way I could know why am I still receiving this form or what should I do to stop receiving this form. Thank you in advance sorry for the long post.
