If you didn't file your taxes in 2016, you will need to purchase the TurboTax Desktop software to get started as these returns can no longer be filed online. If you have not filed your 2017 return, you can add your car registration fees using the instructions below. If you have already filed your return, you would need to wait until the IRS either accepts or rejects your return and then you can amend the return to add this information. Please note if you do not itemize deductions it will not be beneficial to amend to add this information.
To enter this information, select "Federal" on the left menu bar then select "Deductions and Credits" on the top middle part of the screen.
