The Recovery Rebate Credit?

Do a Search (upper tight) for recovery rebate credit and click on the jump-to link (Mac users must find recovery rebate credit in the Topics List). This will restart the interview for the credit where you can change your answers.

***NOTE*** when you type recovery rebate credit, don't click on any of the suggested search parameters - just click on Enter. None of the suggested search parameters work, just recovery rebate credit by itself.

why do you think this line needs to be deleted. the only reason would be that you indicated you did not get the RR when in fact you did.

I got the RR OK.  TurboTax put $2400 on line 30 of our 2020 tax return.  We filed before IRS even began to

process 2020 returns.  In a letter from IRS dated March 22nd, they explainwhy they took away that $2400:  "Recovery Rebate Credit" error.  Wondering whose error this is:  TTax or IRS...

Did you enter the amounts you already got into the 2 boxes?  You had to enter the right amount in the right box or Turbo Tax would give it to you again.  That sounds like the first amount for Joint.  Did you also get the second 1200?  Maybe you entered the 3600 total in the second box?
