I have two kid whose age are below 17. and Turbotax show I can fill Child Tax Credit to get 4000$ return. However, I have foreign income and need to fill form 2555. So I can not apply for Child Tax Credit. But I don't know how to delete the form for Child Tax Credit. I try to change to Form status and choose the form and delete it. However, when I change to easy mode and review it. The Child Tax Credit 4000$ is still in the form.

TurboTax will remove the credit (and the form) once you answer the questions and qualify to exclude the income.
However, if you elect not to exclude the income and elect instead, for example, to take the foreign tax credit against your foreign income (if you pay foreign taxes), you would be eligible for the credit.
Having foreign income doesn't disallow the credit. However, excluding the income does.
Important note: If you have excluded the income in prior years and switch to the foreign tax credit, this revokes your Foreign Earned Income Exclusion Election.
Once revoked, you cannot use the exclusion again for five years without permission from the IRS. Permission requires obtaining a Private Letter Ruling (PLR), and there is a $2,000 fee to apply for a PLR. You may wish to consult a tax professional prior to revoking any election to be sure that you fully understand the implications of revoking your election.
To delete Form 8812 Child Credit follow these steps:
With TurboTax open select Tax Tools in the left panel.
Select tools
Select delete forms
Select delete on the line for Form 8812
Select Delete Selected Form
Dear Leonards,
Thank you for your help. However, it doesn't work. I use Turbotax Premier 2019. When I change from easystep to form, locate "schedule 8812", delete this form from menu "Form"--"Remove Schedule 8812". This form was deleted. But, it was produced by the Turbotax system again immediately!
In the form "Schedule 8812", there is a sentence, “Caution: if you file Form 2555, stop here; you cannot claim the additional child tax credit”. I think Turbotax need to update to consider this situation because some people have foreign income and they can't apply for child tax credit even if they have some kids.

I've been having the same issue . I've tried to erase the form 8 times now but nothing. I answer NO and the form comes right back. I entered amount ZERO (you can enter it only if you answer YES if not it goes on to the next section and there is no section to manually enter ZERO) NOTHING ! keeps getting the form right back
You are looking at an old thread. Although the information regarding the election is still the same, Form 8812 will not be deleted from your return. You will still not receive the credit. The form will simply be reporting that you did or did not receive the Advanced Child Tax Credit. For 2021, Form 8812 (Child Tax Credit) will not be deleted as everyone has to answer questions for the Advanced Child Tax Credit, and thus the form is generated with everyone's return.
