In smart check, TT is saying:
Form w-4 info: Taxpayer YTD salary must be entered
What is this?
Am I supposed to go into my most recent paystub and get the YTD Net Pay?
Or am I supposed to go into my most recent paystub and get the YTD Earnings?
Why?
Thanks.

I would agree with you. If you don't want to change it, then you should take the following action.
The direct answer to your question is yes. You should go to your pay stub and indicate the gross taxable wages (wages less 401K, HSA or other deductions) and the amount of federal income tax that was withheld.
The W-4 communicates to your employer(s) how much federal and/or state tax you and your spouse wish to have withheld from each paycheck in a pay period.
If you owed taxes this year, TurboTax is trying to assist you to correct it.
When I put that in, it demands remaining number of "taxpayer pays".
I guess that means pay periods.
I put in 23, which is right.
It says that is "too large".
I cannot get past this silly "smart check".
Check your answer for the number of pay periods and then try putting 22 pay periods remaining. There will be a time gap between completing the W-4 and getting it incorporated with your employer as a start date.
I put in 23 and then 22 and then 21, still I get the same "error".
Also, I do NOT want to change my W-4.
It seems like I just need to skip this and click File.

I have the TT client on a desktop.
If I click search and put W4, I get a whole bunch of questions about W4s.
I see no Jump To.
How do I do this on a TT client?
Thanks.
To prepare your W-4:
This will lead you through an interview process and help you prepare the W-4.

Diane,
I think I went into the wrong search area.
I should have gone into Search Topics.
I did that, and found the one W4 topic, which showed me how to do what you suggested.
Thanks.
