Last year I tried to do my taxes using TurboTax, I also had a tax person do the taxes who had been doing them for the past several years. My results were different and so I filed using the tax person's results.
I found out that the difference was due to 2020 return and using the covid disaster relief form.
I would like to due my taxes this year, but it is not apparent how to get the info from his return into turbo tax.
I would like to get last years TT updated to match what was filed so that I could use it as the starting point for my 2022 taxes, but I don't see a way to get the 8915 info into it properly.
I have use turbo tax for years, but stopped for about 5 years due to some difficult tax situation. Now that those are over I would like to return to doing my own taxes. However I need to get past the 8915 issues.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

This option is to delete "Form 8915-F" and "Qualified 2020 Disaster Retirement Distr" and then go back to the retirement section and reenter the information. This was successful for most people.
Or, another option is to try these steps to fix the rejection issue:

What year of TT are you talking about? I am trying to get last years TT to match what my tax persion got.
I have not bought TT for 2022 yet as I don't want to spend the money until I believe I can get last years correct so I can proceed from there.
I am looking at TT Deluxe 2021 and I do not see the menu you show in step 2.
Also when you say "left menu" are you talking about the "File" menu?
Thanks,
Paul
The left menu is only for the Online version. The steps for the Desktop program will be different.
Please follow these steps in your 2021 tax return to enter the 2nd portion of the 2020 Covid Distribution to report it on the 2021 Form 8915-F:
Please sure you enter the amount from Form 8915-E, line 9 twice (if it was not from an IRA) or enter the amount from Form 8915-E, line 17 twice (if it was from an IRA). This amount should be 1/3 of your 2020 COVID distribution.
