I've filled in all the info needed for Form A.
TurboTax says the standard deduction is better for me (I don't doubt this).
But, I would VERY VERY much like to see my Form A anyway.
How do I get TurboTax to show what Form A would be if I did not use the Standard Deduction?
I spent a half day gathering all the stuff for Form A, and I'd like to see how far off I am from the Standard Deduction and have it for reference next year.
Thanks Gary
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You can choose to use Schedule A, and once it is available, view it. Then go back and change the option back to the standard deduction.
We automatically select the deduction that gives you the best outcome on your federal taxes. Most 2021 federal tax filers will be better off with the standard deduction versus the itemized deduction.
In TurboTax, you can always switch to a different deduction. However, if you and your spouse are filing separate federal returns, both of you must take the same deduction per IRS rules.
Tip: It's best to hold off on switching until after you've finished going through the Deductions & Credits section. That way you can get an accurate picture of how both deductions affect your bottom line. Also, keep in mind that switching to the other federal deduction may impact your state tax return.
You can't "force" the actual SCH A form itself. But if you save your return in PDF format and elect to save everything to include all calculation forms and worksheets, you can see all of the Schedule A Worksheets. What worksheets exists will depend on the actual SCH A items you entered into the program.
You are posting from desktop software. Switch to Forms mode to see the Schedule A.

OK - thanks - I'll do that.
This does seem like an opportunity for an improvement to TurboTax.
It seems to me that anyone who goes to all the trouble to provide all the inputs for a Form A is going to be very curious how it came out. Seems like there should be a "Would you like to see your Form A" button - or, something like that.

I have gone through this. It still wont produce form A or change outcome to itemized ?
Dased or wral you just coma us
Itemizing deductions is right for you
ITEMIZED DEDUCTIONS
$15,776
STANDARD DEDUCTION
$12,950
Tax due with this deduction: $13,382
Show me the estimated breakdown
A
Real Estate Taxes
$8,112.00
All Deductible Interest
$7,664.00
Itemized Deductions
$15,776.00
Since your itemized deductions add up to larger amount than the Standard Deduction, they'll lower your taxable income more and get you a bigger tax break.
