Deductions for self-employment: Can I claim all meals (50% deduction) as one lump sum? Or do I have to enter each meal expense separately?

I am self employed. I have calculated a total dollar amount on meals purchased during work. I don't want to take the time to enter each purchase. Can I simply enter the sum total?

You can enter a sum total.

Just to clarify ... "meals purchased during work" are not a tax deduction.

Business meals with clients or customers can be a deduction.

Meals when you are out-of-town overnight are a tax deduction.

Otherwise, your personal meals are not a deduction.
