Rejected again - same **bleep** error!
same!
Same issue and I dont even have any charitable contributions?
Same error, refiling for the 3rd time now. I called customer support but they didn't seem to know anything about it and weren't able to help
on the phone with customer service - they are not really helpful. We need a fix asap!!!
Hey Cynthia, can we fix this asap???
Still rejected! So the zero didn’t work. Maybe it’s something transferring from the federal. I’ll try with the new system and update again in hopes to help anyone else.
My state was rejected the first time and then again a second time which I just got notification of this morning. Since it's the 17th, I went ahead and resubmitted AGAIN without making changes. So we'll see what happens. I've seen mixed reviews about people not making changes and it getting accepted today, others saying they zeroed out and it still got rejected. So it has to be something with Turbo Tax. I didn't want to zero mine out because it deducted a bit from my federal that was already accepted.
It does transfer over from federal... My question is, if my federal was already accepted and I go back and change it to transfer to state then the two wont match. This cant be good and TT NEEDS to fix this!
FINALLY!! Placing a zero in the "Charitable Contributions" section of the 1040 federal form worked. After making the fix and resubmitting the CA State Taxes again - CA accepted them within 30 minutes.
Now...what I don't like about this "workaround" is that my Federal Return submitted on 2/15 and accepted has the correct $500 Charitable Contributions; my CA State now is based on the modified 1040 Federal Return which doesn't have the $500 Charitable Contribution.
Come on Intuit! You're better than this. Fix the BUG!!
Now your federal does not match your state... isn't this an issue that requires "amending" the federal and re-submitting so they match????
I placed the zero also and still got rejected, so there seems to be no commonality on what we’re all doing because it seems to be based on luck at this point! I didn’t add any charitable contributions on my federal, double checked today and was still rejected.
that is why I don't want to do it. Federal is correct and was accepted. Customer Service told me that it's a form issue so we need to wait for an update. Really hope that they are seeing this thread as it is getting very frustrating...
i don’t like the idea of my state and federal returns not matching so I’m not going to 0 out. How did people resolve this last year? I’m really not loving that I pay TT to make filing my taxes easy and am having to deal with the anxiety! I’ve never had any issues with my taxes in my life so this is very stressful for me!!
I called three times, unfortunately as mentioned in this thread, the TurboTax tax reps don’t know why it’s rejected or what to do. I hope they can do some research. Hopefully the update fixes the problem. Otherwise they told me I have to call the IRS. I filed with a tax rep each step on the line and she advised me to put my charitable donations in, I asked directly if it would cause disruption/if it was worth it and she thought that was a silly question. Now I wish I’d avoided the small tax break and not claimed it.
