Can I claim Sales Tax of a Car if I co-signed?

Hi, I co signed a loan for my son who bought a car.  He is a student and can not itemize sales tax on his taxes.  He is my dependent.  Can I claim the sales tax from the purchase on my return?

No, you cannot deduct sales tax on a car that you don't own, unfortunately.   Your name must be on the title, not on the loan to qualify.
