What is Michigan's state tax id

It's very unlikely that anyone here can tell you which number you need, or even which number you are referring to  like...perhaps box 15 on a W-2 form?   There would be tens-of-thousands of different numbers for that one. 

You need to wait for all your tax forms to be issued and use the number that the issuer uses .  Most forms that might have that MI tax number have until the end of the month to send them out (just for W-2 forms) ....a few other form types  might not be sent until sometime into February.

I moved to Michigan in 2021. I just got my W2 from my employer. I have one page with Box 15 completed for my previous state of residence, with numbers in Box 16 (State Wages) and Box 17 (State Income Tax). Then I have a second page where Box 15 is blank and in the box titled "Employers State ID No." there are just the words "TOTAL STATE" and then a different number in Box 17 (State Income Tax). Any ideas how I should input this into TurboTax?

If you worked part of the year in Michigan and part of the year in another state, you may need to Allocate your Total Income between the states yourself, if your W-2 does not do this for you.

The first page of your W-2 shows your income and tax paid for the other state, and the second page of your W-2 shows your State Tax Paid to Michigan in Box 17 (the State ID for Michigan is MI).

And in this case, what would I use as the EMPLOYER'S State ID Number? Would it be the same as the FED ID Number?

Contact your employer for their state id. You do need to input both states with correct income. Prepare the state you lived in first, then the second state.
