Filed Federal tax and it has been accepted by IRS. Upon filing I elected to wait on filing state until a later time. Now I'm ready to file Nebraska. When I try to E-File Nebraska, TT tells me I have to file Federal first and offers me a back button. But the back button does not take me to a place where I can choose Federal and State. The tax file has the info that my Federal was accepted. How can I get TT to E-File NE?

Same issue as California
If you are using the desktop/download software, you may have to check for your filing status from within the software itself, so that the Federal acceptance gets recorded in the file itself.....then try e-filing the state.
When you are in that file, you would go up to the "File" menu item at the top of the screen to get a pull-down menu where one selection is to check for e-file status..
But again...this only applies to the desktop/download software.
TT does acknowledge that federal is submitted and accepted. It still will not let me EFile the NE forms.
If you check status from "within" the software (and save the file again first, before attempting the e-file the state), then you might need to call customer support.
One user called them and indicated that CS told them that state e-files were completely stopped for something like 30 states, for some significant software problem. ....to be fixed by 26March. Don't know if that is really true or not...but check for software updates again next Friday, and the Friday after that. (software updates come out on Wed or Thursday evenings )
Having same problem with Montana.
Same issue with NY.
Further update on Nebraska filing issue. If you elect to paper file in lieu of EFile, there is an issue for Nebraska. The PDF generated by TT is "irregular". The forms it generates in the PDF are different sizes, all in the same PDF file, not uniform in size when viewed in Acrobat. Requires setting Acrobat print to "fit" for outsize pages to make them print close to correctly.
I am unable to file Nebraska as well. Same exact problem. I followed your steps on my desktop version and it did not work. I am still unable to file NE electronically.
The issue should be fixed with the most recent update. If you are still unable to e-file your state return, please reach out to TurboTax Customer Support:
What is the TurboTax phone number?
It did work after the update on 3/19. Thanks
