If you are retired it sounds like you might be trying to enter a 1099R or SSA1099 in the wrong place.
Did you get Social Security?
Do not try to enter your SSA1099 or RR1099RB as a W-2. Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.
Or did you receive a pension or some other sort of retirement income?
To enter your retirement income, Go to Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA 401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.
In addition to what xmasbaby0 posted above, you may need to go back into the federal interview section to ensure you did not enter anything in the wages section. If you did, and you did not receive a W-2 form, you can delete it as follows:
If however, you did receive a W-2 form, you will be able to enter your state information in boxes 15-17 of your input in the W-2 section.
All of your retirement income would have been reported on a 1099-R form. This information should be entered into the program as follows in the Federal interview section of the program.
