State Still Pending

My federal return has been accepted for a few days now but my CA state refund is still pending. Is this normal or should I be worried it will be rejected?

State Still Pending

It is normal for your California state return to still be pending. In the past, states can take 3-5 business days or longer than the IRS to process your e-filed return. However, there are many states that are attempting to mitigate the spread of Covid-19. Doing so extremely limits staff and may delay the timeframe to process your return.

State Still Pending

I filed early and I'm seeing people that filed after me already get theirs accepted. Is there an issue with early filing this year? It's really frustrating.

State Still Pending

I called CA franchise tax board yesterday, they said that they didn't receive my efile. I  efiled my return on 02/14 and IRS already accepted it within few hours; while the state is still pending

They asked me to called Turbox tax to find out why. I was told by CA franchise tax board that I am not the only one.

I called Turbo but no solution was provided yesterday. I am not sure if Turbox tax will fix it or not.  . I will wait for few days to see there is any feedback from Turbo. If not, I will mail my paper form or efile my tax on ftb.ca.gov directly.

You might want to give CA franchise tax board to check your case.

No, I called CA Francise tax board, and was told they didn't receive my e file. I efiled on 02/14.

I was told that I am not the only one have problem with Turbo tax e filing. Can Turbo tax investiage this?

Thanks for this information.  I filed both my Federal and State Tax Feb 9th and only Federal accepted on 2/12.  CA State is still pending.  I then filed my son's Federal and CA state tax returns and both were immediately accepted.  I'm also thinking this is a Turbo Tax issue - it's been 8 days and my state is still pending - never taken this long.  I will do the same thing - if it's not accepted in the next week, I'll just mail it in.  Of course that would mean I paid $20 for state efile when it didn't work.

I am glad that we know this is a bug in Turbotax and hope they will refund me $20.

With a lot of hackers recenlty, it's very likely the CA franchise tax board FTP site might be tempered and blocked the transmission...this is just my guess. Turbotax will have to work this out with CA as soon as possible.

I hope someone in Turbotax notices this problem now, but I did call Turbotax yesterday to raise their attention.

Some of you have noticed an issue where your California return has been in a pending status multiple days. This pending status means we noticed an issue that may have caused your return to be rejected and are doing an extra review to assess the reason it was flagged, resolve it for you, or identify what you need to do to ensure everything is accurate and your return is accepted. If this applies to you, we will be sending you an email within 48 hours with confirmation that your return has been filed, or instructions for any additional steps that need to be taken to ensure an accurate return is filed, accepted, and you receive every dollar you deserve. We apologize again this has caused a delay in receiving your refund.
