Yes, AnnetteB6, please let us know if TT is going to fix this!
I had a 130 errors from the federal page I had to make 1d a zero then make the negative number that was originally in 1d a positive and place it in 1e. This doesn't effect the gain or loss from the trade. Took me a while but now I am ready to efile the Federal and State. Who knows how long I would be waiting for a software fix?
Please do let us know if TT is Fixing this or NOT? I need to decide accordingly this is insane.
Let's hope it won't affect federal acceptance. After all IRS received 1099 the way it was before that change.
Now, your schedule D and form 8949 don't match form1099 from your broker.
This is irresponsible for TT to advice this work around instead of making simple fix.
Take 30 min for programmer and a week of testing to remove that stupid compare with federal info.
The work around suggested does not sound logical. This may create issues with Fed Return. Did you test this thoroughly?
Why should TT go to this level of suggesting a painful manual process. We pay money for ease of use, especially to avoid type entering data. Trading institutions spend millions to develop an auto interface to TT. Couple of questions to TT:
1. Who is the EXECTIVE behind this part of the product? Let him/her respond with personal identification to this problem.
2. Why did you sell this product when you know there are errors?
3. Why did you commit a date of early March to fix this? Could not understand the problem?
4. When you missed the date, why dont you folks apologize to customers and give a new date?
5. Why did I get an email from TT that the problem is fixed on Mar 7?
6. When I attempted to do this around March 10th, the software update version was dated March 3. Why?
7. As suggested by a TT employee, I created a copy of report, sent it to TT with Token number as well. What happened to that? Few other fellow citizens did the same. Did anyone use it? Or, helpless to fix this?
8. It is a shame to suggest that the printed reports be filed to NJ. Pass the issue to someone else? So, NJ employees are expected to key enter all these data to process? How unfair you are TT!
9. Please take this seriously and provide a Professional response with a committed date.
10. If you try to delay (as a deadliest form of denial) the fix, this is unethical. Someone may take the whole story to Twitter, UTube, Instogram and the powerful Reddit.
Hope some responsible Executive or Manager responds to this.
Thanks.
May we know if a fix is coming? While the workaround is an improvement, I would still consider the product broken.
rponmudi, great post and sums it up. They must fix this ASAP. I call and they have no clue. I should be reimbursed for all my time spent on this. TT, FIX THIS!!!! shop giving me badges for posting as I'm only here due to this problem. RESPOND and FIX IT!
Thanks Annette. I had 18 transactions that needed correction and post the steps recommended below, both my federal and state returns don't show any error. However, like others, I am worried if the manual corrections may result in issues on overall returns. I request TT to fix the issue in the software such that we do not have to rely on these manual changes.
I will wait for a few more days to see if there is any further update from TT before filing the taxes. Really disappointed in the experience this time and may consider alternatives from next year onwards after being with TT for over 10 years.
Another option is to file federal return now before making any adjustments and only after that adjust it to force this stupid error in NJ-DOP to disappear
Now, after seeing that error and clicking "fix it" it shows me the first entry and then just hangs saying page unresponsive. The specialist keeps telling me to check my internet, when my blazing fast internet is working. I can't edit this error and it just hangs and I had to start over again. Any update on when this will be fixed?
I have the same error related to options. What should I be doing here TT? Is there an update planned for NJ State?
63 errors, 2 phone calls, 3 hours of “troubleshooting”, 2 tickets opened, two tickets quickly closed due to “lack of information”, resulting in 0 solutions.
Be better TurboTax. And fix this issue!
Edit: Called again, asked for supervisor. Was given the following Investigation #: INV-19606
Please use this investigation number when calling so it gets the right attention. They claim it will be resolved by 3/25/2022, for what that’s worth.
that's what i did-- filed federal and NY, then proceeded to fix & filed NJ
I escalated and they said fix is 3/25/22, let's hope so. I told them that I should be compensated for all the time and aggravation spend using TT. I plan to wait as I have 622 errors and that's too many to fix. I told them to monitor these threads.
Yes I was also told 3/25, lets all hold them to this.
