TurboTax desktop for Mac is populating my W-2 information with the country as "Italy" instead of leaving it blank or designating the USA. The state package for NY is then transferring that information into the NY information form and subsequently looking for an entry of the foreign country code.
I don't see why the W-2's (I have 2 and both are US companies) would auto populate Italy. How can I correct this?

@ArtKr There is no way to remove the state software from the TurboTax application. However, you can remove the state tax return and then start the state return over to see if this helps the problem.
Click on File on the top left of the desktop program screen. Click on Remove State Return.
It depends. Check where the address is listed for the employer and check under address type. Make sure US address is selected and not foreign address.
I don't see where to find a box for "address type".
The NYS Information Worksheet is displaying "Italy". When I look at the Tax Data references, it points me to the NY IT-2 form that displays W-2 information and shows Italy. I can't edit either locations. When I go to the Federal Forms listing and look at both Form W-2's, neither shows Italy and both have the foreign province, postal code, and country fields left blank.
To clarify. Did you enter the W2's in yourself or were they imported?
They were imported.
Yes, I would delete the W2's and enter these in manually if you have hard copies of the W2's. See if this will clear up the issue.
Tried deleting both W-2's then manually entering the information. TurboTax is still populating the country with Italy. I made sure to check the box on the W-2 entry screen that indicates it's a US address. The New York Info Worksheet is still showing Italy and looking for a foreign country code. The IT-2 (Summary of W-2 Statements) is showing the country as Italy. When I go into the New York part of the program, it asks to confirm my address using the correct street and city but includes Italy.
Is it possible to uninstall the NY state package and reinstall it? Is it possible there's a problem with the interface between the packages? I looked back at the W-2 data shown in the respective employers forms in the federal forms listing and there is no data entered regarding foreign addresses. I suspect a bug in the software.

Removing the state information and reentering it did the trick. Still don't know why Italy got added but it works now and I was able to complete everything and filed both federal and state. Thanks.
