Hi,
So I updated my address with a foreign addess (in the UK) for my 2024 return. Now, for my State taxes, TT is adding the form PA-1000 PROPERTY TAX OR RENT REBATE CLAIM to my PA state return with 0$ everywhere and UK at the top of the form.
Can somebody please explain why TT is adding me this form? When I was using my PA address, it was not adding it.

Form PA-1000 "Property Tax or Rent Rebate Claim" is included within the TurboTax software when a Pennsylvania state return is started.
Form PA-1000 is a "stand alone" form, meaning it is not part of the Pennsylvania state return.
When the Pennsylvania return was generated in your TurboTax program, Form PA-1000 was also added.
When it was established that the Pennsylvania return (PA-40) was not needed, Form PA was automatically removed.
Form PA-1000 was not deleted as was Form PA-40 since the credit can still be applied for by some taxpayers, even when a tax return is not needed to be filed for them. You are not one of those taxpayers.
Since PA-1000 is showing all zeroes, once you are ready to file, the PA-1000 would be disregarded, and you would not be instructed to mail it in.
However, to clean up your TurboTax account, since PA-1000 is not needed, you can delete Form PA-1000.
Using TurboTax Desktop, switch to Form Mode (top right), find the form and select delete at the bottom of the screen
Using TurboTax Online, please follow these linked directions.
Thank you for your answer. I need to add that I am still filing my PA-40 this year as a Part-year resident because I moved out of PA/USA during 2024. In that case, can I still remove form PA-1000 from my state return? If yes, could you please tell me how I can delete form PA-1000 from my return?
Thank you
Thank you, I assumed you did not require PA-40. My apology.
Form PA-1000 will show in the program because TurboTax knows that credit is available to SOME taxpayers.
PA-1000 is added in the TurboTax software as a convenience for most taxpayers filing a Pennsylvania return.
You are not one of those taxpayers. (You are not eligible, which is why that form shows all zeros (0).)
When you're ready to file, PA-1000 will not be generated.
If you try to delete Form PA-1000 using the steps listed in the previous answer, since you are filing a PA state return, the form may reappear by default. That form is built into the PA program. In your case Form PA-1000 will only show during calculations. It will NOT be included with your state return. PA-1000 will not be transmitted.
When/if you print your return, Form PA-1000 will NOT be included.
Thank you, I will just ignore it then.
