Which state should I do first, residential or nonresidential?

Using TurboTax downloaded software, is it better to do the residential state first, or the nonresidential one(s)?

Complete the nonresident state tax return before you complete the resident state tax return.  This will make sure that you get the credit on the resident state return for taxes paid on the nonresident return.
