What do I enter for NY Other addition/Subtractions Code A-101?

Typically, Code A-101 which is a form IT-225 adjustment which would be the NYC flexible benefits program (IRC 125) which usually appears on Box 14 input on your W2.

So do you have entries in Box 14 on your W-2? Has your employer told you what these entries are for? I ask because there are few standardized entries for box 14, so the employer can just make up anything - so need to ask your employer.

These benefits might be health insurance premiums, child and dependent care assistance, gym memberships, and cash (that's an IRS requirement) - ask your HR people.

The only thing in box 14 is NYSDI.  I guess a lot of other people are having this problem.  But I can't get it to work.  It is very frustrating.  I have not cleared everything out and will start over again.  Hope that gets rid of the glitch.  I have already spent hours messing with it.  Thank you for your response!

Sometimes the review is just a warning to double check and you can continue on to file. Try going to file and filing your return. Always check that your tax forms are correct before filing.

I am using Turbo Tax Deluxe with NYS and I do NOT have any W-2 yet when I tried to e-file NYS, it said I had an error to correct for NY Other Addition/subtractions Code A-101. A zero was pre-filled (not by me) in the "Guided" error area for Code A-101 and it said to leave the field blank if there is no amount. So I blanked out the field and tried to e-file my NYS return and again it said I had an error in Code A-101 indicating that a blank is not acceptable, it has to be a number. There is a circular loop error in this Code A-101 entry. Turbo Tax should NOT have prompted for an entry in this field since I do not have any W-2 forms and it should not have pre-filled this field with a zero. The only way I was able to get around this circular loop error was to go into the NY Form IT-225, scroll down to to the section Other New York adjustments to federal income and BLANK out the pre-filled Zero on the line A-101 New York City flexible benefits program (IRC 125) New York State allocated amount of above.

This was NOT a warning message because it would not let me e-file my NYS taxes and I did NOT want to delete my NYS tax file as someone else in the Community suggested and start all over again.
