I have a rental property in Oklahoma and have to pay Oklahoma taxes on our rental property proceeds. I live in Virginia, and they allow to get a credit for taxes paid to another state.  When I go to TurboTax, the form I need to use for calculations does not exist--this is the VA 760 OSC (other state credits).  I can see it on line #24 of the Virginia State Taxes of TurboTax, however in requesting VA state, I don't see any support for this.  Any ideas?

I have the information--I just need assistance on filling out the 2019 Virginia Schedule OSC (Credit for Tax Paid to Another State) but have no way of going into TurboTax VA state and completing, and the form is not available.......

Thanks!

There should be a option to apply for a credit for taxes paid to another state while completing your Virginia return. You can review your entries in the state return section and look for that option.

If you are using the desktop version of TurboTax, you can go to the forms mode and use the "Open Form" option to search for the form by number.

I thought that too as I have used TurboTax for a number of years.  However, no option for out of state tax credit and no way that the Virginia State Tax downloaded gives the option for the program to fill in the VA 760 OSC. Normally the program would ask if you had that--so I went to the actual 760 form and found on line #24 it is there, however you have to use a worksheet to figure it out--not there to do the math.......and did look for the form, but could not find it....thanks for the assist and reply.

If you prepared the nonresident state return (OK) first, the figures should flow properly to the VA return and create the VA 760 OSC.  Try deleting the VA return, and reopening it.

I am having the same frustration trying to enter this information.  Also, for me (and I imagine many others) the solution of doing all the non-resident state returns first in TurboTax is not applicable as my non-resident state returns have already been prepared and filed outside of TurboTax.  In several previous years of using TurboTax it was easy to just enter the 760 OSC information about the other states when preparing the VA state tax return.   Now, it seems impossible to do this, which would be a serious flaw.

Has anyone found a solution to this within TurboTax yet? On the 2019 tax year web version, I cannot find a place to enter VA 760 OSC information for Composite Tax filing ("Credit for Taxes Paid to Another State").

@Irene2805 's solution should work.  Complete the entire OK state return first, then do the VA state return.  That should prompt the program to produce the correct forms on the VA return.

If that doesn't work, contact TT support:  https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/using-turbotax/help/how-do-i-contact-turbotax/00/26991

Thanks, Tom. My specific situation is I have a composite return where the state taxes are paid on my behalf by an S-corp that I am a shareholder in. The benefit here is that I'm not obligated to file in the states other than my own, instead, I should be able to fill out VA Schedule OSC (760 Instructions). Is there a way to do capture these state payments as credits in TT without filing in each state?

@HereComesRex — That’s a good question, and I don’t know the answer.  May I suggest posting it to the forum as a new question, rather than tacking it on to this old thread that began last February?  You may have a better chance of getting a helpful response.
