how do i apply for renters rebate
It depends.
Your ability to claim the renter's credit depends upon which state you reside in and if they offer the credit. The IRS does not have a renter's credit.
Depending upon your state of residence, when you prepare your tax return, your will be asked questions in the state interview section that will be used to determine if you are eligible for a renter's credit on your tax return.
Please comment with your specific state and whether you have filed a tax return already or not and we can assist you further based upon your specific situation.

There is no such renter's rebate on a Federal tax return. Some states may have a renter's deduction or credit on the state tax return.

I have never applied for a rent rebate. I moved to Missouri March 1st 2019. Could you please give me information on how to do this
You will enter your rent expenses for the renter's rebate on your state tax return. Turbo Tax will guide you to the spot where you can claim it, during the state interview. @gi5
The Missouri Property Tax Credit allows eligible taxpayers to claim up to $750 if they pay rent or $1,100 if they pay real estate tax on the home they own and occupy. If you rent from a facility that does not pay property taxes, you are not eligible for a Property Tax Credit.
This is how to file for the credit. If you are required to file a Missouri Individual Income Tax Return, you must use Form MO-1040 or Form MO-1040P with a Property Tax Schedule (MO-PTS) attached.
If you are not required to file a Missouri Individual Income Tax Return, then you may file the Missouri Property Tax Credit Claim (MO-PTC). If you are unsure which form best meets your filing needs, use their Personal Tax Form Selector
The amount will be calculated on Line 14 of the Missouri Form MO-PTS (Property Tax Credit Schedule) and then carry to Line 40 of the MO-1040 tax return. TurboTax will ask you the appropriate questions for this credit in the state interview section, determine your eligibility, and make the calculation for you.
Here is a link to the Missouri Dept. of Revenue web page which discusses all aspects of the credit: https://dor.mo.gov/faq/personal/ptc.php @Proudnana123
If you move to Kansas but lived in Mo. for 11months can you still get your renters rebate.
The qualifications for the MO Property Tax Credit (renter's rebate) ask: Were you or your spouse 65 years of age or older as of December 31, 2020, and a Missouri resident the entire 2020 calendar year?
Based on this, I would say No, you don't qualify for the renter's rebate. However, there are exceptions to the residency requirement. See page 2 of the instructions for Form MO-PTC - MO Property Tax Credit. Please click here to go to that document: Form MO-PTC - MO Property Tax Credit
What if I what if I already done my taxes how do I do my renters rebate
