My husband and I are residents of MD and earn salaries in MD, but own short-term rental property (and make rental income) in VA. In past years, Turbo Tax has allowed us to electronically file our Virginia Nonresident Income Tax Return (form 763). For 2024 taxes, Turbo Tax is telling us that we are not eligible for electronic filing because “The return includes Form 763S, Virginia Special Non-Resident Claim For Individual Income Tax Withheld.”
Form 763S is not applicable for our situation and we have never been asked to file this form before. In Turbo Tax, I went back to the “My Info” section and changed “Other state income” to “None apply” (as our wages and salaries are only coming from MD) in an attempt to fix this issue, but Turbo Tax is still telling us that we cannot file VA taxes electronically.
I am wondering if Virginia is making form 763S mandatory for 2024 (even though it is not applicable to us) or if there is a glitch in Turbo Tax 2024 online software.
We already paid Turbo Tax to electronically file our VA taxes, even though we are now being told that Turbo Tax cannot file them.

Can you try to delete the form to see if that clears the error? If it does not, please let us know.

Thank you for your message. We are using Turbo Tax online which I believe does not support Forms Mode.
Hi @MaryK4
Thank you for your answer but we are using the online version of Turbotax, which does not have Forms.
Is there a solution for this with the online version? Thank you!
Please see how do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online for instructions.
