Live in Texas, No State tax, but my Co is in Illinois. I work remotely. How do I get all of the taxes they collected back? why do I pay TURBO for Illinois paper filing?

First time filer for Illinois, paper filing is a requirement. Why is turbo charging $39.00? Please share examples of getting erroneously charged taxes back.

You pay TurboTax whether you e-file or mail the return in an envelope. The fee is not for e-filing, it is for using the software to prepare your tax return. You can file a non-resident IL return to seek a refund of the IL tax that was withheld from your pay.
