Thank you for your feedback. I have forwarded it to the community moderators, who will pass it on to the appropriate group in TurboTax.
This is still a problem in the current version of TurboTax (i.e., Every time you update software, the county of residence is removed from the California Information Worksheet). Please fix! It is VERY annoying to see that red exclamation point by the worksheet requiring me to re-input information I have input several times before.
Last week, the software update worked properly and the county in California did not require an update. This week (January 24-25), the update once again blanked out the county in California. Please fix! This has been a problem for at least the past two years (and I think three).
You can check form availability here: Tax form availability tool.
Check back for updates on your state income tax return.
That's not the issue. The "info worksheet" for California is supposed to be finalized. The issue is that worksheet requires you to input the county of residence (see Part 1, Principal Residence). When the software updates come out each week, that county input is frequently eliminated and shows you have an incomplete form. This should be a simple software fix that has been going on for the past three years!
Just updated forms again, and it's still broken. Wants me to enter the CA county of residence AGAIN on the info worksheet. Has TT duplicated the problem? Has a bug been filed?
"pleasepaytheman" is correct. This is the second time this year that I have updated the program and it eliminates the California county I previously entered in the "California Information Worksheet." This is AT LEAST the fourth year that this issue continues to be a problem. PLEASE FIX IT! There is obviously something in your software updates that needs to be found and fixed. This should be a simple item to correct and is a continuously annoying issue for users.
