Several pieces of data were carried over from Federal (for whatever reason, cannot find the direct source), should be easily fixed by deleting the contents and leaving them blank. BUT, cannot override or edit no matter what I try.  Please help!

Can you please comment with the carried over information source you are trying to correct?

For example, if it is a passive activity loss or a net operating loss, we would need to know that so we can assist you.  Also, please let us know what version of the software you are working on.

Once we have this information, we will be able to assist you.  Thank you.

The version is Turbotax Home & Business

Problem #1: The Form is California Schedule E Worksheet - Asset Entry Worksheet, Line 17. The carryover says 163. The error msg says “IRC Code section should be blank. It only applies to amortization. ”

    - I have other (the same) worksheet (for other property) shows the 163 and wasn’t giving me error msg

    - It won’t let me manually delete the “163”

Problem #2: Also California Schedule E Worksheet - Asset Entry Worksheet, Line 44. The carryover shows “R” for Residential rental real estate. The error msg is telling me: “Asset class should be blank.”

    - I can manually select “(no entry)”, but the change won’t be saved and will return to what it was.

Problem #3: Also California Schedule E Worksheet - Asset Entry Worksheet, Line 7. The carryover shows land cost. The error msg is telling me “Land included in cost is too large.”

    - I cannot manually delete or alter the number.

Please help! There’s seems nothing I can do about them. I have tried to do it in the “forms” instead of “easy steps), but it didn’t help.

You need to correct the error on your federal taxes, go through all of the state pages again, and then review federal and state.
