I want to delay filing my Maryland state return due to the issues with form 8582. I have already paid for my taxes for the year. However, I can't figure out where to go to only file federal.
When I go to the File screen it wants to review the Maryland return and it gets stuck on the Form 8582 and I can't unselect filing Maryland.
I can't delete the Maryland state return because I have already paid, it only lets me start over.
I want to get the federal filed now at the very least.

I’m also getting that same error code! all it says it will be fixed soon but that was early yesterday morning . If it isn’t fixed in a few hours I’m taking my business elsewhere. Wasted my time to get to the end of all this, for your systems to mess up.. then the real messed up part is, if I want to use the live chat for help I have to pay yet another $100 is this a way y’all get people to have to upgrade by forcing them to have to talk to someone???
Update, I followed your instructions to delete the state return. The error is still present and will not allow me to go further even though the state is deleted… getting the same error code.
Give it a few days for the fix. Once it is fixed you will be able to submit the return electronically. Cannot give you a date and time that it will be fixed because there are other updates that are occurring at the same time. However, if you check back in a few days, hopefully it will be updated.
Thanks but I’ll be going elsewhere today. It’s now day 3 and nothing has been fixed for this issue. You’d think y’all would have this running proper by tax season. and it’s weird I deleted the state as you said it it’s still trying to fix an issue with state even though my info is deleted and no longer there…. I know it’s not your fault.. regardless this company is not getting $150 outta me now. Y’all aren’t taking it as a priority… people don’t have time to wait for y’all for 3 days!!!

1) I had tried to delete the return, but it won't let me. I can only start over.
2) After I paid, I don't get the option to change my filing options. It goes straight to wanting to efile the MD return. I have searched topics in the online portal to try to see screenshots of where to go, but I can't find anything. If I could find this, I would do it. It won't even let me select the option to mail my MD state return.
Right now the software is requiring me to finish my state return before I can file federal. This is getting highly frustrating.
I know the form is due to the state/feds and not turbotax. However, the usability of the platform and being able to easily find what i need to hold off on submitting my state taxes is within Turbotax's control.

Update it’s been a week with still no fix and nothing from turbo tax to accommodate the people that have already paid for your service that are broken. And looks like y’all stopped responding.. what y’all need me to pay another $100 before chat kicks in?

This issue continues to persist. It’s been over a week and nothing has been fixed by you all. I will ask you again. What are you doing for the people who you all are forcing to wait to file? Why am I paying y’all $150 for a service that isn’t working????
