Yes, you can remove your solar and wind energy credit carryover from your NY return.
Please follow the steps below:
How do I delete that page?
Try going into Tax tools (left of the screen), Tools and then "delete a form." Look for form 5695 and delete it.
I dont even have that form and it still gave me that error. Is there another form to delete
And I have no solar and wind energy credit carryover either. I checked everywhere and made sure nothing was entered in

Try as @LenaH suggests above and delete the amount from in the New York State Interview page (screenshot).
This appears on the 'Other Tax Credits and Taxes Worksheet' but you don't want to delete the worksheet itself in case other credits are included.
Or, if you pay for your return and look at the completed worksheet, you can see if there are any other credits shown. If not, you can delete this worksheet.
Here's a copy of the Form IT-203-ATT Other Tax Credits and Taxes Tax Year 2021.
I am having the same problem. Which worksheet do I delete? I do not see an IT-203-ATT in my list!!
THIS IS WHAT WORKED: Copied from another user a couple of years ago:
This finally worked!! Thanks so much! If you have an on-line version of Turbotax, you can't see lines so you have to go to the section "Other Tax Credits" then "Non-Refundable Credits". After you get to that section, make sure those boxes are blank! I had zeros in both boxes.
Yes. I made the mistake of entering 0’s for these forms that did not apply to me instead of leaving it blank. Go to state taxes, then other-tax credits. Then go to non/refundable credits and make sure the boxes do not have a value. It should be left blank. I also deleted form IT-255, the form for solar and wind energy credit, in the tools section from the drop down menu on upper left of screen.
@Hanson This worked for me, finally. Thank you. Kudos to this community member section for helping to figure things out.
Does this method apply only to online version? I left the credits blank in the previous five years, and TurboTax still doesn't let me e-file my N Y State return.
Is this considered a bug of Turbotax? Because I have never claimed solar and wind energy credit in the past and this year included, why I am deemed by TurboTax I claimed this credit? Thanks in advance for you help!
Blanks are good both online and desktop version for that section. I am assuming you are using the desktop version based on your question. If so, you can switch to Forms mode. You will see a red exclamation next to forms with issues. Click on the form and look for the pink box to correct. You can also delete the form. In your case, deleting the form should solve your issue.
