Since I've completely given up ever reaching a live person at Intuit (no matter what I said, I couldn't get through to a live person....very frustrating), I'm going to ask this here:
On the page that lists the 3 versions of Turbotax, it gives price ranges for each one (e.g. for TurboTax, it's $0-$89, for LiVE Assisted it's $0 - $169). I see nothing explaining why it's showing a price range. Can someone help with this?
Thanks,
Andy

The prices are based on whether you choose Deluxe, Premier or Self-Employed. And there is a difference in the cost for online Live and online Live Full Service.

ONLINE 2022

And just so you know—online prices go up in March—Pay your fee before then to lock in the discount
What page? There are 4 version for Online. Free Edition, Deluxe, Premier, and Self Employed version. Are you looking at this page?
https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/
There are 2 tabs at the top to show the regular versions and a tab for the Extra LIVE help versions.
Hello, if you go this page:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/
then click Compare all filing options (just below the three different versions shown on that page), you'll see the price ranges.
The reason it has a range depends on which version you decide to go with.
You can view the Turbo Tax versions here. Free is $0, and then you have Deluxe, Premier, and Self Employed (is the highest). There is a promotional price running that is currently running, so prices are reduced.
You can view the Live versions here. Live has Basic, Deluxe, Premier, and Self-Employed.
That link you provided takes me right back to the page I started this post with. At the bottom of that page it does mention Deluxe, Premier or Self-employed. But those are not referenced near the top of that page. At the top, it only shows three options: one non-live version, LIVE Assisted and LIVE Full Service.
It makes no sense to show these three icons at the top (with the Start for free buttons), but then at the bottom of the page present even more (and different) options. This is not intuitive at all (no pun intended).
Most people will see those three big icons (with the pics of women) and click on the Start for free button. That's the most obvious thing to do.
If I click the "Start for free" on the non-live help version, which product do I end up buying? Deluxe, Premier, self-employed???
Thanks,
Andy
We don't know what page you are looking at. What computer or devices are you using? When you go to the Online link https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/ we see all the versions and prices for each. There are 2 tabs at the top to see Do it Yourself or to have Real Experts to help you. Don't you get this screen? See the prices listed under each version? They are currently discounted.
Your link takes me to the Expert Help prices. Doesn't the page look like this? The prices are listed on each version. I drew a red box around them. Or you can click the other tab at the top for the Do it yourself prices I posted above.
Now I see what's going on. I had went to intuit.com, then clicked on:
Products | TurboTax
Pricing
Well, that gives me a whole other "look" vs. going to:
Products | TurboTax
Do it yourself
Do your own taxes
There when I click on Pricing, I get a different display on pricing, and it's one single price per product (which is what all of you have been telling me lol). I have no idea why they would present pricing different ways on their website.
Thanks to everyone for sticking with me on this one. I kept shaking my head because I clearly wasn't seeing what everyone else was seeing. lol
So, I had JUST started filling in data using the link provided at the beginning of this thread. If I now go to what I'd call the "real" link that shows pricing and click on Turbotax Premier, will I end up with Turbotax Premier? Now I have no idea of what I selected when I started with the other link. Is there a way to tell which option/package I selected when I log in and get to the page where I'm first entering data?
Thanks,
Andy
