In Turbo Tax, it says you can pay your NYS Income taxes via credit card and if you click the link, it'll take you to the state dept. of taxes and finance. The problem is that Turbo Tax (when clicking next) only gives you 3 buttons to choose from: DEBIT, CHECK, "partial payment/installment" plan. WTH? You can't pay your NYS taxes online via the Dept. of Tax/Finance website until AFTER you file. But TurboTax won't let you proceed to file until you pay with a DEBIT from a bank account (or check, etc.)

Select send a check if you want to make a payment directly with the State of New York. Then go to the Department of Taxation and Finance and make your payment at Credit and debit card payment information.
TurboTax will print a payment voucher to mail. You can ignore that.

Thank you very much. Why Intuit couldn't have put a little comment/note in there (if you're paying NYS income tax with a credit card, select this option), is beyond me.
Do I just, enter the amount and pay that? There is no verification on the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance site. I entered the amount Turbo Tax told me I owed, and the site implemented their 2.25% fee, but I could have input any number. Is there a verification process to ensure everything is correct before I pay a not-insignificant amount of money into the ether?
You should have been able to print and/or download a receipt for payment from the NYS Division of Taxation upon paying at the state site. If it is too late to print and/or download, I suggest monitoring the payment site for verification that your payment has been received and recorded.
