I had a big computer problem earlier this year and basically lost 2017. When I try to open my 2017 Turbo Tax return I get a message to install the California state tax portion. I don't have that.
I've been using Turbo Tax "forever," probably at least 20 years. I could not have filed my 2017 tax return without having the CA portion. So how can I prove that I HAD the CA State part of turbo tax? How can I get proof that I bought it? How can I get it, reinstall it ... so I can open up my 2017 returns?!
I have an appointment with a tax pro coming up ... because I have a big change now ... and need a pro to advise me.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You first need to start a new fake 2017 return so you can download the state program. Go to File-New and fill in some basic info then go to the state tab and start CA.
Then try to open the .tax2017 File.
Thanks ... I WILL try that
