On my W2 form, there is local income tax for Yonkers RES and Yonkers NONRES.
I have NEVER worked in Yonkers (and I want to reclaim this amount), but TurboTax does not realize this was accidentally held by my employer and wants to mark me as someone who has worked in Yonkers.
How do I reclaim this full amount without being taxed for a residence in which I have no relations with?

I cannot recreate this error with TurboTax Desktop or TurboTax Online.
If you are still getting an error, it would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2021" file that is experiencing this issue.
You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: Go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools.
We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.
Hi Lena,
Thanks, token number is 988120.
I could not replicate your error. I was able to mark myself as a nonresident of Yonkers and was able to mark that I did not get income from Yonkers sources.
The only change I made was that I changed YONKERS NONRES to Yonkers in the W-2 input. YONKERS NONRES is the tax nonresidents of Yonkers pay when earning money in Yonkers. Therefore, it should be added to Yonkers tax withheld.
You can also delete Form Y-203TP.
To delete, please follow the insturctions below:
If that does not work, your best option may be to delete your state return and restart it.
You can delete your state return by following these instructions.
Note: If you've already paid your TurboTax state fees or registered your free version with your state return attached, you can't delete your state return.
If you’ve already paid your state fees, you can’t delete your return, but you can start over by selecting Start Over next to your state return on the Status of your state returns screen.
I've deleted the Y-203TP form and started over for the state return.
However, both times it has requested that I change my answer to TP Yonkers Income Yes.
It will not let me e-file if I do not make this change.

If that still does not work, then please call Intuit at 1-800-4-INTUIT (1-800-446-8848). TurboTax support is open daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM PT. You will be able to share your screen with them and they can assist you with getting past this error.
