I do not understand the date became resident. I was living in Alabama at my current address until August 2016 when I moved to Texas and moved back to Alabama in March 20

What date should I use on my return because of the move in 2016.

In the Personal Info section for your name you would enter Texas as your resident state since that is where you resided on 12/31/2016.  You would indicate that you lived in another state and from the dropdown select Alabama and enter the date you moved to Texas.
