Your employer will have to get SDI tax back for you. It is not something an employer can do on their own.
See the answer from awesome Tax Champ @hbl3973 at CA SDI Refund.
Thanks for letting me know. Is there a online resource or link I can let my employer know from my side, so that they can take appropriate action ?
Point our employer to page 60 of the 2022 California Employer's Guide.
Hi,
Hope you're doing well. Since I work with a big organization like Amazon, it's a bit difficult to chase different teams to do this work. I am also under an impression that, they would issue me a new W2 with my work state as Texas. I think this would create confusion as I have already claimed CA state taxes from FTB.
It is only the CA SDI amount that I want the claim back. So, I wanted to know that if there is someway I could directly contact FTB or EDD, to claim the amount back ?
Thank you for your help.
Regards
Check with your employer, but they may still be covering you for SDI and possibly unemployment, even though you are working out of state.
