Do you mean that you live in CA and work remotely for an employer who is located in MO? Or do you mean you live in MO and work remotely for a CA employer? Where do you actually live? Where is the employer?
Where do you do the work? If in CA, no, you don't owe MO tax. But if you are physically in MO when you do the work, then yes, you would need to file a non-resident return for the income you earned while in the state of MO. But there are exceptions.

Then, you file a state return for CA. You do not file a MO return.
