How do i enter solar credits on the schedule EC on the Massachusetts state refund

TurboTax's handling of this is not that great.

1. If you haven't already, you must complete Schedule EC yourself. You can get a copy of the form from Mass DOR: https://www.mass.gov/files/documents/2019/01/09/dor-2018-inc-sch-ec.pdf

2. You enter the credit amount on the MA Credits screen as a "Business related non-refundable credit" - ignore the fact that you may not be a business.

3. Select the "Solar and Wind Energy Credit". Just enter the credit amounts - ignore the fields that don't apply to you.

TurboTax should generate Schedule CMS for you. You won't be able to e-file, as you need to send in the paper Schedule EC with your tax return.

TurboTax should know that the Schedule EC hardcopy is required, and not allow you to pay for state e-filing, only to be rejected & then have to mail in the return.  Now how do I get my e-filing fee refunded?

Hi Folks in MA who added solar or wind in 2017.  I used Turbo Tax Premier and it DOESN'T HAVE the REQUIRED MA Schedule EC.  EC is easy to fill out, so INTUIT, please explain why you don't have this form in there?  I filed (paper) after reading this post above thinking I was OK with form CMS (only).  It's not okay; I'm dealing with MA tax authority now to try to give them my EC form.  You have to fill out EC on paper and then send the paper version from TurboTax together in an envelope.

Turbo Tax online didn't have any instructions on this during the online filing process. If one has already e-filed for 2018, how can the refund be amended to add Schedule EC?

This was a know issue that has persisted through the 2018 and 2019 filing years.  This lack of corrective action of a known issue is completely unacceptable. I will NEVER use Turbo Tax again and I will make sure everyone I know hears about this.
