Turbo tax keeps saying my "non-resident" state needs to be completed first, so I've reviewed and completed 5 times but I keep getting the same message: ""non-resident" state needs to be completed first".
I know there is probably something that needs corrected BUT I keep filling and checking every box...

Did you start with the nonresident state first and go through each return until you received the prompt done with state?
The prompt for non-resident return must be filed first will remain on the screen even if the return is complete. You will start with the non-resident return first because most states will allow a credit for taxes paid to another state. TurboTax will walk you through the process of claiming the credit on your resident return. Once you have completed both state returns, follow these steps to continue on with filing your return:
See the link below for more information on credits for taxes paid to another state:
Like I stated: I have filled everything out for the "non-resident" 5 times, from beginning to end, and it won't let me continue to the resident state... I don't know how much clearer I can state this. Refer to my initial post.
For the 6th time:
Illinois | Nonresident | Started | Continue |
Pennsylvania | Resident | Started | Continue |
This is STUPID. [profanity removed] I can't continue, and I just get some "bot" on the other end, telling me to do what I've done 6 times. I think its a SCAM to push for me to have to PAY and advisor?
I have read the entire thread here and it sounds like you may have to clear your cookies, cache' and history. You may be in a loop. Please come back if this does not help.
First, run a review of the return to determine if there are any outstanding errors then after all of that is cleared, clear your history and reboot the computer.

Hopefully this helps.
Im having this issue. I even paid for Live Help. I cleared my cache THREE times. I filed my nonresident first (not completed) THEN my resident. After i finished my resident, I went back to nonresident and it keeps saying "STARTED" even when I review it. It never says "reviewed".
