I’ve run into an issue on separately editing employment on Federal and state taxes,
I need to file both W-2 and self-employment taxes for federal, though only w-2 on state. I attend school out of my home state, where I worked a w-2 job for which I file state taxes as a non-resident and federal taxes. When I’m back in my home state on breaks, I do food delivery with Uber as an independent contractor.
The issue is that I need to not have the self-employment/ Uber income/taxes included on the state return, as that info is only reported my home state ( Tennesse, no state income tax) and Federal/ IRS, so it will only cause unneeded confusion.
Until just now, I was able to easily edit/ remove the Uber/ self-employment indecently. Where is this ability now?

If you file a non resident state return part of the state interview process is indicating how much of each income item belongs to that state. Did you not see that in the state interview ? Did you even have a profit on the Sch C after the mileage deduction ?
It may only appear that you are paying state tax on the self employment. On a state return you usually pay tax based on a ratio of your state income to your total income. So, the TN income gets reported on the other state (OS) return, but is not taxed. As Critter-3 said, you are asked, in the interview, to identify each piece of income as OS income or not OS income. That establishes the tax ratio. W-2 income may be identified by the state abbreviation in box 15 of the W-2 (rather than in the interview).
For more specific help, you need to identify the state (rules vary).
