E-File Charge

I was wondering why its going to charge me 19.99 to e-file when I bough the version that has state and federal returns

normally, the federal return is free e-file, state return filing has been 19.99 for many, many years.

Lots of people get confused by this--because they do not read the fine print.  You got the software to prepare a state return.  There is an extra fee to e-file the state.  Until about early March it will be $19.99 to e-file a state return using desktop software, then it will go up to $24.99.  You can avoid paying the fee if you print sign and mail the state return instead.

I've tried to print my state return to mail it but it only gives me the option to e-file at a charge

You can switch from mailing to e-file. Please follow the instructions below for help.

i want to mail my state refund but every time i go to print i get a message that my state return official document are not available yet

If you have a form that is still not available, it could be the main return or 1 of the forms inside your state return.  Please check your state in this link:  State Forms Availability

its shows that all forms are available for CA but i still can print forms
