Cannot enter text in box 19 from 1099-R

For 1099-R, TurboTax is telling me to enter a number in Box 19, but the info on my form says "EP USED". If I try to enter this, TurboTax says I must enter a number and will not proceed. If I try to proceed without entering a number, it then wants to know if the account is subject to an RMD. This question was never asked in previous years.

@ZaphodB

I "think" you just leave that box entirely blank.

(Check back in a few days to see if more comments are posted)

Apparently, if an actual $$ amount was in there, it could be used for a deduction from MD taxes in the actual MD tax forms...but the text is just telling you it has all been used up......something to do with MD "Pick-Up" contributions you made in the years before retirement.

@dmertz   Are you more familiar with this?

Leave box 19 blank.  Maryland is just telling you that you that future distributions will be fully taxable by the state of Maryland because all of of your picked-up contributions have been distributed.

Assuming that none of the distribution was rolled over to another retirement account, you can simply tell TurboTax that the distribution was all RMD and the entire RMD required from this plan.  TurboTax asks RMD questions when you reach age 73 and some of these RMD questions are new for 2024.
